Bucs Week 18 and Playoff Game Reviews

Week 18 Bucs vs. Panthers:
In the final week of the 2021-2022 NFL season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosted the Carolina Panthers. The Bucs were in a race against the Los Angeles Rams for the 2nd seed in the playoffs and needed a win this week more than any game this entire season. Our entire team realized that and played their butts off in the 41-17 win.
Our pass defense was easily the biggest weakness from start to finish but it got better after letting up a Panthers touchdown on the opening drive. Rising stars Anthony Nelson and Antoine Winfield Jr. got a pair of sacks and Andrew Adams got an interception late in the 4th quarter to seal the game. Defensive Coordinator Todd Bowles clearly knew what he was doing and made every Bucs fan happy.
The offense had one of it’s best performances, too. Tom Brady made a strong MVP case as he completed 29/37 for 326 yards, 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. Brady also broke his own Bucs record for most passing touchdowns in a single season with 43 and broke the record for most single-season completions in NFL history (485). Mike Evans broke his own record for most consecutive 1,000 yard seasons (8) in Buccaneers history. Gronk broke the record for most 100 yard games by a tight end in NFL history with his 7 reception, 137 yard game. The run attack, while not used much, worked really well. Le’Veon Bell averaged 4.7 yards per carry, his best average since his glory days with the Steelers and receiver Scotty Miller got a 40 yard end around for the final touchdown.
Multiple players are returning for Wild Card Weekend against the Eagles. This team is about to be a major problem in the playoffs. The Buccaneers host the Eagles at 1:00 on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium. Super Bowl 56, here we come!

WIld Card Round Bucs v Eagles
The Playoffs are finally here. The Bucs are going up against long-time playoff rival the Philadelphia Eagles. Most iconic meeting between these teams was the final game at the Eagles old stadium where former Bucs legend Ronde Barber came away with a game-ending pick-6 to send the Bucs to the Super Bowl and win it. The Bucs game trailer this week featured Ronde as the narrator. Quoting a line to start off “hey philly it me, Ronde, again”. He is truly the Eagles worst nightmare. Sadly he did not play in this game for the Bucs as he is retired, but he must have brought some good luck because the defense looked like 2002 all over again. They put up a shut out through the first three quarters.
To start off the game as the flags had been raised and the cannons were loaded the Bucs got the ball and took it all the way down the field for a 2 yard Gio Brennard touchdown. That is what the Bucs were hoping for a fast start. That fast start combined as the Bucs went on to score a touchdown and a field goal. The Bucs went into half with a 17-0 lead.
As the second half went to kickoff the Bucs had all the momentum. The Bucs defense continued to make plays all day and made Jalen Hurts have to throw the ball which is not his ideal scenario. The Bucs took over with an interception and with a one play drive Tom Brady to Mike Evans for a touchdown. Mike flipped into the endzone and as the Bucs lifetime voice Gene Deckerhoff said it “stabs into the heart of the eagles”. That touchdown would likely seal the deal. The Eagles offense scored two touchdowns as the Bucs strong defense had let up. The Bucs would not score again and time would run out as the Bucs would get a home playoff win for the first time since 2007 (Not including home super bowl 55).
The Bucs would await their opponent playing on Monday Night Football between the Rams and the Cardinals. The Rams would come away with the win and the Bucs will have to get ready and rest up for the Rams. The Rams have a great defense and offense and the Bucs have to find a way to stop it. The Bucs will most likely get back corner Sean Murphy-Bunting who they didn’t have when these teams met in week 3. They also look to get back running back Lenny Fournette also known as Playoff Lenny and Lombarity Lenny. The team will also hope the pro bowl tackle Tristan Wirfs comes back after stuffing an ankle injury in the Eagles game. Ryan Jensen was also hurt with an Ankle, but did come back and looks like he should play.
The Rams will come to town on a short week on Sunday as the Bucs continue the theme of playing teams they played in the regular season stretching back to last year’s divisional round. Next Week on NBC at 3:00pm Rams at Bucs.
