Matilda the Musical
The CDS theater is being prepared for the upcoming play in late February.
This February, the CDS theater department and their fearless leader/director, Colleen McEvoy will be bringing their rendition of Dennis Kelly’s “Matilda the Musical” to the stage!
Matilda is the story of a young girl, (portrayed by Keira O.) whose neglectful mother and father, (Melanie DLC, and Asher G.) and oblivious brother, (Peter W.) do not appreciate her incredible brain. Once Matilda starts school, she has to learn to navigate the world with the help of her teacher, Miss Honey, (portrayed by Kate W.) and her friends. While doing so, she also juggles the antics of her crazy family and the tyrannical head of school, Miss Trunchbull (portrayed by Joanie H.).
The cast and crew have been hard at work for months, building a fantastic show and set. The show will premiere on February 25th, and will also have performances on the 26th and 27th.
