Football Fans Rejoice: Brady’s Back, Baby!
The GOAT has made his return.
After only 40 days, Tom Brady has made his return to the NFL. Many assumed that he would be back while others said he was done. Many also believed he would go to a different team, but on this Sunday he delivered again for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As everyone’s phones buzzed at 7:13 EST on Sunday the 13th, the news broke out that Tom Brady had made his return to Tampa, VIA Twitter. This was predicted at some points, but it still came in ultimate shock to everyone. Tom said he and the Bucs had unfinished business. This came after a disappointing divisional round loss to the Super Bowl Champion LA Rams, where Brady and the Bucs sparked a comeback, but still fell short by three. Tom Brady coming off what easily could have been a MVP season clearly still has a lot left in the tank and is ready for season 23.
The Bucs become immediate playoff contenders with Brady’s return and as the NFC had many of its star players leave for the AFC, the competition only becomes easier in the NFC for what possibly could be the Last Dance for Tom Brady. The Bucs had over 27 players eligible to leave (Free Agents) and as soon as Brady came back many worked on long term deals and many resigned. For example players like Lennard Fournette who earned the nickname playoff Lenny for the Super Bowl run in 2020. Chris Godwin who was originally Franchised Tagged to play one more year with the team has reworked his deal to save the team money and be with the team for over two years. Center Ryan Jensen wanted to stay in Tampa, but when he heard Tom was back he signed a deal right away. Same with Cornerback Carlton Davis III as he rejoined the team along with Jensen when Tom returned. The Bucs also made moves to return longtime Buc William Goldston for another year, and signed former division rival from the Falcons WR Russel Gage. Gage was in the WR one for Atalnta the past two years and he became the WR three in Tampa which brings much more offensive weapons. The team made moves for former Tom Brady teammates Safety Logan Ryan and traded for Super Bowl winning Guard Shaq Mason .All this is what coach Bruce Arians called the Tom Brady effect quoting “They know what Tom brings and we got a shot for another ring. And that’s it. That’s the bottom line,” As the Bucs put themselves in win-now mode and look to go on a big run this year, maybe even more than before.
Brady said in his comeback tweet, “These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG ” Tom coming back is huge for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and football as it seemed Tom was not ready to let the game go and most of us were not ready to let Tom go. People around the Bucs organization really showed how excited they were and how much impact this makes and so did the fans. Tom Brady and the Bucs will get ready to reload and maybe add a few more pieces to the puzzle and look forward to competing come September and hopefully reach the Super Bowl come February.
