HOSA heads to states!

The 2023 Regional HOSA competition was held at Middleton High School on January 21st, 2023. Tension was high and the nervousness was palpable, but ultimately, the Patriots fought through it and many placed!
Carrollwood Day School students competed in events such as epidemiology, prepared speaking, and clinical nursing, to advance to the Florida State Competition in Orlando.
Senior Tejas R. was the only senior who placed, and got first place in Job Seeing Skills. Many juniors placed, with Junior Abhiram T. placed first in Medical Law & Ethics, Bhuvi R. placing second in Clinical Speciality, Anika S and Aayush P. placing second in Health Career Display, Owen W., Nikheel D., Mohammed A., and Wyatt W. placing second in Creative Problem Solving, and Jude A., Eric E., Jack R., Abdulrahman A., and Marco W. placing third in Parliamentary Procedure. Four sophomores took the podium, with Kiara T. placing third in Pathophysiology, Aanya I. placing first in Clinical Nursing, Natalia B. placing first in Nursing Assisting, and Michael R. placing third in Epidemiology. Two freshmen also placed, with Charley J. placing third in Medical Terminology and Alice S. placing first in Speaking Skills.
There were also students who placed fourth or fifth in their competition and will move on to states if a student who placed in the top three cannot make it to states. These students are Cathy P., who placed fourth n Researched Persuasive Writing & Speaking, Wyatt B., Bodi B., Simmon C., and Arjun P. who placed fourth in HOSA Bowl, Adassa P. who placed fifth in Prepared Speaking, Aditi K. who placed fifth in Health Career Photography, and Samantha H. who placed fourth in Extemporaneous Writing.
