We Were Liars Book Review

We Were Liars is a book written by E. Lockhart. The story is about four teenagers, also known as “the liars”, Cadence, Gat, Mirren, and Johnny, and their summers spent at the Sinclair family lake house. One summer, while the liars were running around the island, an accident happens and Cadence loses her memory of everything that happened that day. Because of the accident, Cadence and her mother stop going to the lake house for a few summers. When they finally decide to visit it again, it’s not the same. Cadence can tell that there is something the others are not telling her, and all of it revolves around what happened that night all those summers ago.
We Were Liars is an amazing book to read during your summer vacation. It centers around romance and mystery. It does a great job of making you never want to put it down. The author E. Lockhart does a great job on keeping the reader engaged from the beginning to the end of the novel.
If you enjoy her work, be sure to read Genuine Fraud, Again Again, The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks, and the next book of We Were Liars, Family of Liars, where it centers around the parents and their rowdy childhood.
