Heartbeat in the Darkness
March 12, 2021
The DP theatre class here at CDS wrote, choreographed, directed, and performed “A Heartbeat in the Darkness” this winter. The entire play was done in masks and socially distanced, and then recorded for release to the public. The link below will lead you to its site, where you can read about the short play and view it. The performance was completely made by the DP students of eleventh and twelfth grade and the high school theatre teacher, Mrs. McEvoy. It focuses on how life has changed through Covid, incorporating music and dance and acting to tell a story. The show also included both in class and ALP students. There were bumps in the road including the twelfth grade being quarantined during the week they planned to film, but the final result is a well run production.
