Catching Up With CDS Fall Baseball

This year’s fall season was a great improvement for Carrollwood Day School’s baseball program. After last year’s season in the Spring the team put in a lot of hard work with a new coach and new players to help have a winning record for the fall season. The boys have been working out in the mornings in the weight room and having practice until 8:30 at night. They started out 4-0 in the fall season with very good wins against Robinson, Hillsborough, Tampa Prep and Plant hitting very well and pitching great. The team started to lose a few games but bounced back to start winning by beating good schools like Jesuit twice and Gaither.

The boys have shown that they aren’t the same team as last year, and will keep working during the winter to improve heading into the regular season in spring. The team is looking good after finishing off their fall season with a win at home.

Carrollwood Day has brought a lot of new coaches to the coaching staff for this year, including a new head coach, new assistant and pitching coach that will help the boys improve heading into the spring season. The baseball team played a tough schedule this fall season with public school teams including Gaither, Alonso, Plant and more.

The boys really felt like they were getting better after their win over Jesuit at Jesuit. The team also was fired up for their last game on November 9 against Gaither at home. They went out there and put on a great performance to their home fans to win their last fall game. With Christian Clarke firing up the team with an inside the park homerun.

The boys are all excited for the Spring season as they will keep putting in work during the offseason by pitching in bullpens, getting work in the cages, and long toss. The baseball team has learned a lot from the baseball classrooms and learning moments during the fall season that have made them better. They have shown they can be a good hitting team and have great defense during this fall season.
