20 Questions with Mrs. Santiago

As CDS continues to welcome new administrators this year, 9th grade has added one as well. Mrs. Santiago is a new addition to the 9th grade English department. Known for always having the best snacks, the Patriot Press wanted to find out more. With the help of 20 questions, we were able to discover more about this new English teacher.

Can you give a brief introduction to who you are and your importance here at CDS-
A: “ I am Mrs. Santiago and I am a ninth-grade English teacher and have the privilege of working with the ninth graders alongside Mrs. Alpert.”

What is your favorite thing about CDS?
A: “ My students.”

As a kid, what was your dream job?
A: “ Teacher or actress.”

What is your favorite book?
A: “The Fall Of The House Of Usher by Edgar Allen.”

What is your favorite family tradition, past or present?
A: “ Christmas. We all get together, have dinner together and we tell each other something that we love about each other and our hopes for the new year.”

What is your zodiac sign?
A: “Aries”

Do you have any pets?
A: “A kitten named Popcorn and she’s eight months old. I also have two fish, Dracula, and Edgar.”

Is the glass half empty or half full?
A: “ Half full.”

Are you a morning or night person?
A: “Night.”

What are 3 things you can’t live without?
A: “ Sushi, cheese, and fast cars.”

Describe yourself in 3 words-
A: “ Trusting, energetic, and also under-caffeinated.”

Winter or summer?
A: “ Summer, that’s why I moved down here.”

If you could have any superpower what would it be?
A: “ Telepathy because I can know if you guys did your homework or not.”

What is your favorite holiday?
A: “ Halloween.”

Do you like routines or go with the flow?
A: “ I like a mix of both.”

What is your spirit animal?
A: “ Shark.”

Do you have a hidden talent?
A: “ No, other than being exceptionally clumsy.”

Describe your perfect day-
A: “ 73 degrees, on the beach, with a fishing rod, book and my family.”

What or who makes you laugh the hardest?
A: “ Jago Stokes.”

If you had one day left to live, what would you do first?
A: “ I think I would have to overcome a fear so I would probably climb a mountain because I am terrified of heights.”

These questions helped learn some of Mrs. Santiago’s secrets along with some interesting facts. The 9th grade class is lucky to welcome such a great teacher this year!
