Editorial: South Beach Parking
With the limited amount of space on the Carrollwood Day School campus, students have to park on the South Beach field that’s rented from a nearby church. The archaic South Beach’s potholes and uneven terrain cause students’ vehicles to get stuck. A parking garage is the perfect solution to this problem building a parking garage. Where the current parking lot is would be beneficial to the students, and staff, that occasionally have to park on the field as well. Considering that our school just underwent major construction with the addition of the new building, more construction is probably the last thing CDS wants. Recently, there has been gravel placed where the uneven mud was. However, the gravel moving and becoming uneven from rain could happen again, and parking on an uneven field is simply not a long-term solution.
